The Story
I started in social work, where I learned that change doesn't happen top-down or bottom-up. It happens when you get the right people in the room and make it safe for something honest to surface.

That lesson carried through every role that followed: Fractional HR Executive and leadership roles like at Care.com,   Chief People Officer at TCP Software , Head of People at Spiceworks Ziff Davis, HR Chief of Staff and HR Project Management roles at Expedia and Microsoft, and most recently, the edge of AI and work as fractional VP of Customer Success and Strategy at MeBeBot.

Twenty-five years in, the lesson hasn't changed. The companies that make it through change are the ones that treat people strategy as business strategy, not a side function.

Mission
To help leaders and teams rebuild their People Systems, realigning people, process, and technology into a workplace ecosystem where humans do their best work.

Vision
A future of work where the people function leads transformation instead of cleaning up after it, and where organizations stop bandaging what's broken and actually fix it.

What I Believe
  • People are the point. Transformations fail when process and technology get the investment and people get an afterthought. I saw it with Agile. It's happening again with AI.
  • Fix it, don't bandaid it. Most problems aren't broken processes. They're broken ecosystems. Patch work just hides the cracks.
  • Possibility over scarcity. The leaders I work with aren't lacking capability. They're stuck in beliefs about what's possible. Shift that, and everything moves.
  • Honest beats comfortable. The conversation nobody wants to have is usually the one that changes everything.

Beyond the Work
I co-founded AltHR Hive (link to www.althrhive.com), a Signal diagnostic framework and The Shift podcast  for the people function navigating change and AI. The goal is to elevate the future of the function by empowering and equipping people with effective tools.  I serve on the board of Love Justice International, co-founded Austin Women in Agile, and helped revive DisruptHR Austin. Off the clock: a good book, a trail, and my two Kerry Blue Terriers.
